Postcards from Ptuj and Maribor

February 19, 2020

Seven whole days in Slovenia meant we had plenty of time to explore. Ljubljana and Lake Bled were the first places on our radar closely followed by a day in Soca Valley and a trip to Piran. I narrowed down our itinerary to focus on six days in those places which left one day free to explore somewhere else. I noticed the places I’d picked were all very West Slovenia, surely the East of the country has something to offer too?

Everything You Need to Know About the Valley of the Mills

October 1, 2019

When I first saw a picture of the Valley of the Mills, I knew I had to add it to the bucket list.

I’m a little bit obsessed with abandoned places. I’m sure my vast amount of blog posts on the subject is testament to that. But the deep Valley of Mills in Sorrento is a perfect example of an abandoned place where nature has taken over. It’s one of the most surreal and beautiful places I’ve ever been to and also one of the most unexpected.

Ultimate Melbourne to Sydney Road Trip (One Week Itinerary)

September 10, 2019

The Melbourne to Sydney road trip is a road less travelled by most backpackers. Don’t get me wrong, the road from Brisbane to Cairns is incredible and you should definitely do that one. But there are so many gorgeous sights you’d be missing out on if you decide to fly between Australia’s biggest cities. Here is my ultimate week long guide for visiting what’s between Melbourne and Sydney on the coastal route path.

How I’ve Seen Half of Europe on a Minimum Wage

September 4, 2019

Back in 2015, I set myself a goal. Before I turned 30, I would like to have visited every country in Europe. Why 30? I don’t know, it felt like a good age. Why Europe? I don’t know, it felt like a good continent. Hey, I don’t question other people’s life goals, alright? I just stick to my own goals with extreme stubbornness.

Escape to the Grampians

May 15, 2019

Hello! This blog post will be a long one. Let’s call this the final ‘what happened to my year abroad in Australia’ post. It’s going to include everything from what happened at my job, all the preparation I did to insure that I was chill enough to simply go visit a mountain when everything went wrong and why I ended up back home. And why I love the Grampians, obviously.

Five Hours in Key West

February 7, 2019

In 2017, my friend, Jess, and I did a road trip across the USA. Miami to Seattle, truly a cross-country road trip if there ever was one. Jess, at the time, lived in West Palm Beach, FL and repeatedly asked me why Miami was on the itinerary and if we could skip it. Despite her reluctance, I was convinced that we needed to do the USA from the South East to the North West. I’d put a considerable amount of effort into making my itinerary and if Jess wasn’t going to join me, then I’d go alone.

Croatian Road Trip

February 1, 2019

Early in 2018 I booked a cheap flight to Zadar on a whim because of course I did. Little did I know that Zadar isn’t exactly a prime location to holiday to. Unlike New York or Paris, you can’t really spend three whole days there if you like the kind of holidays I do. You know the kind I mean, the busy, non-stop sightseeing city escapes.
