I Made it to Melbourne!

September 11, 2018

I realise I’m pretty far behind on updating my blog at this point. I barely mentioned my trips to Spain and the USA, let alone the fact that I’ve since been to four more countries that I haven’t even told you about. I will.

There’s a reason for my lack of posts. I’ve found it difficult to write recently. Well, that’s a lie. I’ve been writing a lot. What I’ve found difficult is sharing what I’ve written, or figuring out exactly what I’m trying to say. I end up writing a whole lot of nothing for over ten pages and even I can’t make sense of it. As well as that, I don’t know what’s appropriate to share on my blog. Do we want to get personal, or do we want it to be exclusively about travel?

Either way, something did happen recently and it would be silly if I didn’t share it. I moved to Melbourne! Part of me thinks the decision was made a little bit hastily and out of the blue, another part of me thinks it’s been a long time coming. I have wanted to move to Melbourne ever since I was 17 and I’ve been working hard for the past three years specifically to save up to move.

And yet it feels like terrible timing. I know this is because of things that are beyond my control – work related stuff, mostly. And to get myself out of the place is the most logical decision. I can finally live my dream! But it feels a bit frivolous because I feel like part of me is here, part of me is still there. I cannot detach myself from all of the things that lead me to make the decision to move.

Anyhow, I am here now and I will try to blog more often as I know it’s what my family want, plus even I cannot deny that moving to another country is interesting and the trips I have planned here are certainly worth blogging about.

I have a very exciting trip planned for the next six weeks taking me all along the East Coast of Australia and I will try to keep you updated with every new place I go. As well as that, I plan on filling you in on all the places I’ve been to that I never got around to telling you about. Austria, Italy, Poland and the first time I came to Australia in May. I’ll likely alternate with a post about Australia and a post about another place and try to post at least twice a week from now on.
