I had extremely low expectations for Sydney due to the fact that the majority of my Aussie friends are from Melbourne. “Sydney’s the worst!” they’d say whenever I told someone I’d be going there. In fact, they made Sydney sound so bad I considered skipping it on my road trip to Cairns, sticking exclusively to smaller beach towns like Jervis Bay and Port Macquarie.
However, after Jervis Bay I was growing ever more tired of beach towns and since visiting Wilsons Promontory and Morton National Park, the naturery aspect of the road trip was getting a bit same ol’ same ol’ too. I decided I’d give Sydney a chance and oh my goodness, I’m so grateful I did.
First things first, Melbournians lie! Sydney is far from the worst. In fact, Sydney’s one of my favourite cities I’ve ever been to. Dare I say this, but I think Sydney’s better than Melbourne. *Ducks from the dangerous sharp objects being thrown at me across the room.*
I don’t think I need to explain why I love Sydney so much. I hope the pictures will speak for themselves. Oh, and this is not the last blog post you’ll see on the subject. I plan to dedicate several posts to the different things I did in Sydney, but for now, I’m still in the middle of my road trip and I’m sure you’ll forgive the fact that I’d rather be out exploring than writing blog posts.
