Ultimate Melbourne to Sydney Road Trip (One Week Itinerary)

September 10, 2019

The Melbourne to Sydney road trip is a road less travelled by most backpackers. Don’t get me wrong, the road from Brisbane to Cairns is incredible and you should definitely do that one. But there are so many gorgeous sights you’d be missing out on if you decide to fly between Australia’s biggest cities. Here is my ultimate week long guide for visiting what’s between Melbourne and Sydney on the coastal route path.

Escape to the Grampians

May 15, 2019

Hello! This blog post will be a long one. Let’s call this the final ‘what happened to my year abroad in Australia’ post. It’s going to include everything from what happened at my job, all the preparation I did to insure that I was chill enough to simply go visit a mountain when everything went wrong and why I ended up back home. And why I love the Grampians, obviously.

7 Reasons Why I Was Not Supposed to Live in Australia

January 31, 2019

As you know, I recently moved to Australia. I was supposed to stay for a year but I only lasted four months. Don’t get my wrong, I had an amazing time there and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m super grateful for everything that happened, even the bad stuff. But sometimes you cannot ignore the signs from the universe telling you to run as fast as you can away from a situation and the universe was telling me to run far far away from Australia. Or simply catch a plane back home at the earliest convenience, so I did.

Australian Cities to Visit Based on Your Zodiac Sign

December 22, 2018

So you want to visit Australia but you’re not sure where to go? Never fear! I’ve compiled a list of my favourite Australian cities and which one would be ideal to visit based on the personality traits of your Zodiac sign. I’m pretty much obsessed with Astrology and I actually know what I’m talking about, believe it or not. There’s a lot more to Astrology than just your sun sign so if you feel like the description doesn’t represent you, look into your birth chart to see what other signs are there. You might identify more with your moon or rising sign than your sun.

Most Instagrammable (Vegan) Brunch Spots in Bondi

December 20, 2018

It was in Sydney, more specifically Bondi, where I discovered I have a bit of a brunch problem. During my time there, I woke up early every day to devour different brunches and I don’t regret a thing. It was my intention to get fat in Australia, I’ll have you know.

Actually, I scrimped and saved all my money earlier in the trip, eating cheaply so that I could throw the money I saved at Sydney’s cafes. It was all a part of my master plan to live my best life. Once again, I don’t regret a thing.

But let’s not waste any more time. Let me tell you about my favourite brunch spots near Bondi Beach. Continue Reading…

Is Fraser Island Worth It in the Rain?

November 28, 2018

Normally, I like to do things myself. So far, I’d hired a car and driven myself to Rainbow Beach from Melbourne, created my own itinerary and gave myself tours around everywhere I wanted to see. I knew Fraser Island wasn’t going to be like that and I wasn’t looking forward to it.

I’d seen that Fraser Island was the highlight of a lot of people’s East Coast trip, so I needed to do it, but the effort of finding a 4WD to hire, getting a permit to visit the island and figuring out things to see while I was there. It was kind of exhausting, not to mention expensive. I decided a tour would be the best option. Besides, I actually like tours when I’m on them. Finding out interesting facts about the island from a person who’s been doing this stuff for years, you can’t get that from a self-drive tour, but I’m stubborn and still wanted this to be my trip when I did everything by myself. Still, you can’t have everything, can you? I booked a tour. Continue Reading…
