Sunday Singalong in Mauerpark

February 23, 2017

There’s only one place to be on a Sunday afternoon in Berlin and that’s Mauerpark. Why? Because of Bearpit Karaoke of course! It’s one of the few places where a portable, battery-powered karaoke machine in a field can attract hundreds of visitors willing to sit around for a couple of hours (or close to seven in my case!) and be entertained by singers with a wide range of abilities. Bouldering in a Bunker

January 10, 2017

I’m down in the hip area of Friedrichshain at Der Kegel, what was once an overground WWII bunker and since turned socialist hub. I’m ten feet in the air, clinging to the colourful rocks with no harness and there’s only the soft, bouncy floor beneath me. What a way to try out bouldering for the first time. Continue Reading…

Best Veggie Burgers in Berlin

December 19, 2016

December 6, 2016

Photographers, instagrammers and hipsters alike might know that Grunewald Forest is the home of the abandoned NSA listening station on Teufelsberg (Devil’s Mountian). I’ll admit I’m guilty of journeying out to Grunewald to find said listening station without realising the forest might have been what makes this area of Berlin so magical. Continue Reading…

Vintage Shopping in Berlin

November 23, 2016

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m kinda obsessed with vintage, sustainable and eco shopping. When it comes to the latter, Berlin has it all. Vegan supermarkets, shoe shops, ethically made-in-Germany clothing shops, you name it. But when it comes to vintage stores, there’s only a select few that caught my attention. If you’re interested in vintage clothes, definitely check out the places listed below. Continue Reading…

Sunset from the Reichstag Dome

November 2, 2016

The Reichstag Dome is one of the most beautiful structures in Germany’s capital, with hundreds of mirrors circling a dome and looking out at the stunning views of Berlin. The parliament originally had a stone dome but it was damaged in the war. In the 1960s, the Reichstag was restored and later, in the 90s, Sir Norman Foster designed a new, eco-friendly dome that collects rainwater and the mirrors even light up the room below.
